Made by Maxfield & Sons Ltd and hallmarked Sheffield 1913, it combines an elegant oval form with a sweeping handle and finely decorative edging.

The polished interior offers a beautiful contrast to the detailed rim, while the slender arched handle brings height and balance to the design. Its restrained ornamentation allows both the silver’s reflective surface and the central engraving to take prominence.

Presented to Mr & Mrs W.S. Russell on the occasion of their marriage, the dish carries a tangible connection to a celebration in Nanking, China, in October 1918. The inscription names the gift’s presenters—S.G. Wilkinson, E.G. Wilkinson, W.A. Price, F.C. Cudmore and A.H. Cowan—preserving a thoughtful gesture across generations.

An elegant addition to the Deja Vu collection, this piece brings together decorative appeal and personal history, whether displayed as a centrepiece or treasured within a collection of period silver.

Dimensions: 30cm x 20cm x 15cm
